TTT (Teach the Teachers)

如果你问中学老师甚么叫STEAM教育，相信大部分老师不懂答，绝大部分不懂教。STEAM在国际上已有超过20年历史，是越来越受到重视的教育理念，强调动手能力，以有趣的动手经验，学习Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math。分别代表了S-科学，T-技术，E-工程，A-艺术，M-数学。

美国采用STEM，我们认为加入艺术(Arts)元素非常重要，特别是对低年级的学生来说，色彩及艺术感对他们会有更大启发及吸引力。

“What is STEAM education?” Most of the teachers of secondary school do not have the answer and fewer of them will say they can teach it. STEAM education is cience, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math。Shad more than 20 year’s history in the western world and drew more and more attention in recent years.

USA officially uses “STEM” while we think Arts is very important, especially for the younger students, color and arts will have more inspiration and attraction.

美国总统奥巴马在2011年以白宫白皮书形式，提出要用10年时间，培养10万名STEM老师，重点在于中学教育。四年之后美国已成功培训了3万名STEM老师，我们必须加快追赶。

美国STEM教育由来已久，可以追溯到1986年美国国家科学委员会发表的《本科的科学、数学和工程教育》报告。其建议培养优质科技人才、工程师、科学家，以及数学家，来提升国家的竞争力。正是该报告开启了美国STEM教育的大门，并促成了此后数十年美国教育改革在政策与财力上的支持。

早于1992年，凯文․诺曼已开始他的TTT项目，目前已经退休的他，希望长期留在深圳，帮助中国推动中学老师的TTT项目，加速STEAM教育在中国的进程。

President Obama launched the TTT program called 100Kin10 in 2011 for 100,000 STEM teachers in 2021 while he got 30,000 after 4 years.

 The STEM education in US can be chased to 1986 and had great impact on national competitiveness. 

 Kevin started his TTT program as early as 1992 and he is continuing his career after retirement, especially contributing to China.

International Makers Thumb Up by PM

凯文․诺曼的努力受到中央及地方政府的赞赏，去年10月全国双创周，他是重点推介的国际创客达人之一，国际创客达人区域是李克强总理大力点赞的项目。

The great work of Kevin is praised by central and local government. Kevin is one of the highlighted international makers in the International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week in Shenzhen in October, 2016 which got the thumb up by Primer LI Keqiang.

Kevin在退休前，在sciencewiz夏令营教机器人技术和C语言编程，并运用在乐高MINDSTORMS机器人上。他退休后推动自己的项目“课堂自主车辆学习”，教导初中和高中生运用Python语言做课堂的自主车辆、机器人设计。这个机器人以Raspberry Pi作为编程平台并使用Arduino管理机器人输入传感器和控制机器人的执行器。

Kevin taught robotic technology and C language programming in Sciencewiz Camp，and applied it to LEGO MindStorm robots. The project he is doing now is teaching secondary schools’ students to do autonomous vehicles and robots design at class using Python language. The robots use Raspberry Pi as the programming platform and use Arduino to manage the robot input sensors and control the actuators.

He is currently working to design an educational robot and curriculum.

赛格众创空间与香港创意服务及国际技术转移协作网络（ITTN）合作，每月会举办一次国际创客下午茶活动，邀请来自全球顶尖国际创客，与深圳的国际及本地创客分享交流，这是是第三期，12月的嘉宾为来自日本的走遍全球Maker Faire的“猫耳朵”Takasu。
