The annual Swingtime Ball will be held in Beijing this year from November 06th to 12th!
The China Lindy Hop Championships (CLHC) will have six categories open
for registration this year, ranging across all levels. This is your
chance to have fun with dancers from all over the world and let your
passion shine through!
Sign-ups are available from August 21st-September 15th. Choreography,
practice, outfit…It’s never too early to start your preparations!
Strictly Lindy
Format:
Prelim: All Skate*, the DJ will play 3 songs of different tempos (140，160，175-185BPM), couples social dance, judges pick 5-7 pairs for the Final.
Final: Spotlight* accompanied by a live band, couples social dance. First round: 16 eight-counts. Second round: 8 eight-counts. Finish with an All Skate.
Date: November 10, Friday Evening (Prelim & Final on the same day)
Location: Gehua Tower 11F, Ballroom
Fee: 150 RMB/pair (20USD/pair)

Jack & Jill
The 2017 CLHC includes two types of Jack & Jill events: Open Jack & Jill and Advanced Jack & Jill. We will not set specific requirements for the Advanced Jack & Jill level, dancers can decide for themselves whether the category is for them.
* To respect different genders, “Jack&Jill’ is slowly fading from international compititions. We will still use this traditional name for this year, but we definitely welcome everyone to sign in for your chosen role(lead/follow)

Solo Jazz
Requirements: Sign up by yourself, open to all levels.
Format:
Prelim: All Skate, the DJ will play 1 song for dancers to do improvisational solo dancing, judges pick 5-7 pairs for the Final.
Final: Spotlight. The 1st song (slow) will be 120 BPM, each dancer
appears for 2 rounds of 8 eight-counts. The second song (fast) is
175-190 BPM, each dancer appears for 2 rounds of 8 eight-counts. Finish
with an All Skate.
Date: November 10, Friday Evening (Prelim & Final on the same day)
Location: Gehua Tower 11F, Ballroom
Fee: 80 RMB/person (10USD/person)
Showcase
Format: Choreographed swing dance within 2 minutes of swing jazz music.
Date: November 10, Friday Evening
