    Topic / 话题

At the beginning of 2018, an article named "the Beijing middle age under the flu" went viral on WeChat moments. It not only told a story of China's middle-class family in face of disease, but also triggered a wide discussion around 'Middle Class'. The middle class is a class of people in the middle of a social hierarchy. The NBS (National Bureau of Statistics) defines 'Middle Class' as those households with annual incomes ranging from 50,000 to 420,000 yuan. However, this criterion was published in 2005 and seemed outdated obviously for now. Who exactly falls into the group of middle class? That's actually a much more difficult question to answer than it seems. Are you middle class? what is your criteria for middle class? what being middle class mean to you? Join us and find it out on Wednesday.
