五年了，没错，五年！

Arkham于2013年3月正式营业以来一直坚持把优质的音乐和好玩的派对文化带到上海。 五年间里，太多精彩瞬间和模糊的回忆，现留下的是对过去的回溯以及对未来的憧憬。在这里，你能找到一群曾义无反顾热爱音乐的少年，至今仍为其执着的青年们。

It's been a wild five years. That's right. Five years. Arkham started in 2013 as Shanghai's platform for undiscovered and rising talents in music, art and culture. Within a few months, Arkham was a phenomenon. 

十年前的魔都地下音乐文化可谓寥寥无几， Arkham的诞生复苏了整个魔都夜生活！Arkham的名字源于DC漫画蝙蝠侠当中虚拟的一座精神病院，但它在派对爱好者心中却十分真实。从300人的派对到1000人的潮流聚会，Arkham已经成为亚洲排名前10的地下俱乐部，被誉为亚洲的地标。

Ten years ago, there was barely any underground music scene in Shanghai - however the birth of Arkham resuscitated a whole new vibe to night life! The name of Arkham comes from a virtual mental hospital in the DC comic Batman, but in Shanghai it is very real place in the heart of the party enthusiasts.Five years on, our consistent and high quality bookings have grown from 300-person riots to 1000+ revolutions. They have pioneered Shanghai's music scene and served refreshing experiences for all party types. Arkham is among the top ten clubs in Asia.

2016年期间政府的重新整顿计划不得不让许多具有代表性的聚集地另寻窝巢。Arkham但并未此放弃初衷 ——把好听、好玩、有趣的人事物传播更远。我们马不停蹄、日夜不停歇得努力下终于在2017年初把Arkham从乌鲁木齐南路的废墟中挖了回来，并找到了坐落在巨鹿路的新家。

Despite mainstream influences, changing tastes and one particularly frustrating venue change. Here, you can find a group of carefree young people who have a common love for music, years passed by some of us still stick to the same passion.

Girls fainted in toilet, where lay their youths. I never saved one, out of the rule improper body contact. But I do wish all females to enjoy themseddlves as well as protect themselves.

Squarepusher, Bonaparte, Death to Ponies' record release, Jay Electronica (though the sound was a bit off for that one), and loads more - but my memories of them are all a bit too fuzzy to be able to craft a witty/interesting anecdote.

我对于Arkham的记忆一直是美好又模糊的，尤其是在它乌鲁木齐路的旧址那里，霓虹色的夜光喷漆照亮着黑色的入口通道。Arkham的舞台设置是我认为最适合现场表演的。而我印象最深刻的一场是2014年Peaches的表演。没有人像她那样脱下覆盖着巨大的假胸的紧身衣过。

I have great/hazy memories of nights out dancing at Arkham, especially at its old Wulumuqi Lu location with the neon paint-splattered entryway. Its stage setup has always seemed best suited for live shows to me, and Peaches’ performance back in 2014 was one of my favorites. Nobody pulls off a leotard covered with giant fake boobs quite like she does.

最难忘的是ZHU三个小时的超长待机DJ加上夏日汗蒸房的体验了。

The most unforgettable event, for me, is ZHU who DJ-ed for more than 3 hours. Plus, the bad air-conditioners brought all the people to experience a summer sauna.

当然是VICE/YSYS的派对了！Low End Theory全员出动，Brainfeeders的年轻艺术家Teebs和我们的好朋友ChaCha都来了。我看到了中国这么多的年轻人因为音乐而聚在了一起。深夜大家都没玩够不想走，DJ Nobody不得不切断了音乐。所有人都是玩得开心的， 当然了，也喝了不少酒。

Definitely the VICE/YSYS Party last month. We had the whole Low End Theory crew and Brainfeeders' young artist Teebs playing here, as well as our good friend ChaCha. I saw so many young Chinese kids connected by their music. People didn't even wanna leave when DJ Nobody had to cut the music. All the artists and our friends had a lot of fun, drinking hell lot of alcohol.

Swayzak

Swayzak 是一支来自于英国的tech house双人组合，由David Brown 与James S. Taylor组成。工作生活在伦敦的他们，在1997年推出了第一支名为“"Bueno" / "Fukumachi"的单曲，之后"Speedboat" / "Low Rez Skyline”的发行，让他们成为了英国tech-house新兴潮流的重要一员。

Swayzak is a tech house duo from the United Kingdom that consists of James S. Taylor and David Brown. They live and work in London and released their first single "Bueno" / "Fukumachi" in February 1997. To much acclaim it was soon followed up by "Speedboat" / "Low Rez Skyline" to become part of the burgeoning tech-house scene in the UK.

在1998年五月，他们通过美国的 The Medicine Label 厂牌和英国的 Pagan Records厂牌发行了出道专辑Snowboarding in Argentina ，并获得了很多好评。之后，这张专辑被美国舞曲杂志 Mixer评选为1998年年度专辑。就此势头，他们推出了四张录音室专辑，以此奠定了自己在电子音乐界的地位。

在2011年，James Taylor脱离了团体，来专注于自己的个人项目Lugano Fell。剩下David Brown继续以Swayzak的名义活动。

Their debut album, "Snowboarding in Argentina" was released by The Medicine Label (United States) and Pagan Records(UK) in May 1998. It garnered many positive reviews by music critics. The album was later chosen as 1998 Album Of The Year in the U.S. dance publication Mixer. They went on to release 4 more studio albums, marking their place in the electronic music scene.

James Taylor left the group in 2011 to focus on his solo project Lugano Fell. David Brown continues to release music and play live as s_w_z_k.

他们的现场演出从来不进行彩排，也不提前录制，完全保证百分之百的现场即兴演出，这和任何的DJ设置都是完全不同的。在这个声音追求完美的时代，Swayzak享受去做不一样的事情，并不想混入大众潮流。就算他们使用外置效果器，不同步播放的电脑设备来创作定制化的舞曲音乐的方法听起来和演奏house，电子音乐没什么差别，但Swayzak的音乐一听就是毫无疑问的Swayzak风格。

The live shows are exactly that, never rehearsed, never pre-recorded,  100% improvised taking an organic approach unlike most common DJ sets. In these days of audio perfection Swayzak enjoys to be different, risking it and playing in his unorthodox approach. Whilst embracing technology using unsynced laptops and outboard effects to create a custom made dancefloor sound that touches on elements house, techno and many other genres whilst still sounding undeniably Swayzak.

Amber Akilla

出生于澳大利亚的小妞 Amber Akilla，曾为Flava D, Chimpo, Sinjin Hawke,  Venus X, Sarah Farina, Brodinski, Tokimonsta，A$AP NAST 等众多明星助力演出，能够驾驭house, hip-pop, 流行舞曲等各种风格。

Born in Australia, Amber Akilla has taken her talents across the Pacific from Hong Kong to Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo. Having played support for acts including Flava D, Chimpo, Sinjin Hawke, Venus X, Sarah Farina, Brodinski, Tokimonsta, A$AP NAST, Lil Akin & Visudy, Uniiq3 and Little Simz, her dynamic selection sees sets moving between hip hop, grime, house and modern dance music.

LinFeng

来自上海的独立音乐制作人LinFeng对于制作Beat music，DiscoHouse, Chill Wave音乐有着自己独特的见解。他在音乐中将合成器和RhodesPiano混合出的jazz和声与早年灵魂音乐的采样结合。LinFeng活跃于时髦的Fashion show现场，以及充满酒精的地下Party，是国内最受关注的音乐人之一。

DJ LinFeng is now the newest upcoming star in Shanghai. He has his own option about Beat music,Disco House,Chill Wave. He is good at mix Synthesizer and Rhodes Piano tobring us a special  jazz chord, and toplay it with Soul music Samples, which shows us an image of the lazy emotional south city.

Max Shen

Max Shen出生于上海，运营Arkham俱乐部，他创立电子音乐组织4x4x4x4,开展house／techno 跳舞运动在中国的发展，引进当代电子音乐艺术家文化交流。同时Max也是亚洲techno先锋组织Asians Vibes的DJ，跨界演出艺术家陈天焯（ASIANDOPEBOYS），艺术家张鼎的“龙镇虎斗”系列，021艺术博览会X 没顶画廊等当代艺术多媒体活动，参加“草莓” “MIDI”“摩登天空”“Intro”等音乐节和“Boiler Room”中国北京站的演出！并将签约意大利电子音乐厂牌Digital Traffik, 在欧洲展开一段新的冒险。

  Max 早期深受Sasha & John Digweed影响，在2000开始DJ演出，迷恋John Digweed的bedrock 厂牌公司，Dave Seaman和Steve lawler等当时的英国先锋派，经过岁月变迁，时光流转，2007年Minimal主义影响世界音乐潮流，也影响着Max Shen 的音乐走向，10年来坚持德国和中部欧洲的house／Techno音乐，从Dirty House 到Dub Techno，把阴暗 深邃的Bass line结合科技之声融入舞池。

Max Shen was born in Shanghai. He runs Arkham club and set up electronic music group 4x4x4x4. He carrys out the development of house/ techno dance in China and introduces current electronic music artists exchanges and acts as the DJ of Asians Vibes for Asia techno vanguard group. He is also regular visitor of current art-multimedia activities for  interdisciplinary performance artist Tian Zhuo Chen(ASIANDOPEBOYS), Zhang Ding’s series of “Enter the Dragon”, 021 Art Fair and Madeln etc and music festival for “Strawberry” “Modernsky” “Intro” “Boiler Room Beijing China“etc. He will sign Italian music label Digital Traffik and star his new journey in Europe.

 Early on, Max was deeply affected by Sasha & John Digweed. He began to show as DJ in 2000 and got crush on British avant-garde of the day for John Digweed’s bedrock label company, Dave Seamman and Steve Lawler etc. Minimalism influnced the music trend of world and Max Shen in 2007 through time and change. He has insisted on the house/Techno music of Germany and Middle Europe combining dark and deep Bass Line and voice of technology into stage from Drity House to Dub Techno for ten years.

Yoshinaga

90年代作为Rock乐队的吉他手展开活动，创作了众多Rock乐曲，并自行制作发行CD。2003年定居上海，06年开始在上海DJ。2011年创立了派对品牌“Asian Vibes”，2013年开始“中国首演系列派对”，邀请国际DJ来上海演出，2014年开始担任英国Fnoob网络电台Techno频道的主持人，同时与国内DJ合作开拓中国地下电音市场。

Moved to Shanghai in 2003 and started djing since 2006.In 2011, he founded the party brand “Asian Vibes” and became active in Shanghai electronic scene with his unique Japanese style house/techno. In 2013, started his project “China Debut Series”, invited many international artists to Shanghai for their debut performance. In 2014, he began to host podcast on Fnoob Radio (UK)’s techno channel, and keep exploring the Chinese underground electronic scene with local djs.
