论坛中文介绍

2016年喜玛拉雅文化论坛以当代中国艺术与知识生产中的模仿概念与现实表象为讨论焦点，尝试对之做出批判性的重估。此次论坛的工作假说是：强调形式革新、实验的极盛现代主义与早期后现代主义的英雄时代已经过去，写实主义与对于现实的写实主义式表征正在全世界复兴。我们关注的问题，关乎真实对我们所提出的律令；我们要思考艺术所把握到的真实，但同时还需要道德、伦理、社会经济与政治视角的介入。我们的目标是：以考察叙事与视觉的表征方式，来确认、命名与描摹那些丰富而活跃的形象、经验与难题，这些都指向着尚未命名的现实。

我们邀请当代中国第一流的艺术家、作家与学者在此汇聚，希冀围绕当代的芸芸众生与其以审美与批判的方式所领会的历史情境之间的关系，激发出授人以灵感的争鸣。

The 2016 Forum has as its focus the critical reevaluation of the concepts of mimesis and representation of reality in contemporary Chinese art and intellectual production.  The working hypothesis of the Himalayas Forum 2016 is that there is a global resurgence of realism and realist representation of reality after the heroic age of high modernism and early postmodernism with its focus on formal innovation and experimentality. We are concerned with questions regarding the imperative of the real as it is grasped in artistic as well as in moral, ethical, socioeconomic, as well as political perspectives. We set as our goal the examination of narrative and visual-representational ways by which to identify, name, and render full, vivid, and animated the images, experiences, and problems of this as-yet unnamed reality.    

By bringing together the leading artists, writers, and scholars in China today, we hope to generate inspired discussions on the relationship between living men and women and the historical circumstances and situations they seek to comprehend aesthetically and critically.
