Web developers make people's life much easier everyday by coding websites and web applications. For instance, you are using Didi to haul a car while you get to stay warm inside instead of chilling on the street (something very important for Beijing's winter). Your browse Chrome for information/video and enjoy the countless extensions the browser provides. And you live your everyday life, from work to relationship to feeding yourself, on wechat/alipay.

Generally speaking, web developer is also the synonym for a well-paid profession of relatively abundant opportunities in Beijing. The rumor goes that web developers don't need go job search and instead recruiters come to them. If you also get super interested in the pay and opportunities of the web developer position as I am right now, you might want to ask the similar question: What is web developer and is it difficult to become a web developer without a formal bachelor/master education at college?

That's the reason why Beijing Foodies invites Jason as our guest speaker for the web development workshop which is to be happened next Sunday afternoon at Haidian District. To cast some lights on the question. No, you don't need to be super technical to become a web developer. And no, you can definitely get a web developer job even though you are without the college education on web development if you decide to join in Jason's workshop next Sunday afternoon. Within two hours, Jason teaches you to becoming a web developer. As usual, all web development related questions are welcome!

Software Engineer at Google

Jason is a Software Engineer at Google that has worked on products like Doubleclick, Firebase, and Google Pay. He graduated in 2012 with a degree in Computer Science from UCLA. Since then, He has had the opportunity to work as a full stack engineer on a variety of products that are used by millions of people every day. He's lived and worked in Beijing for the last year to experience China and force himself to learn Chinese.
