Startup Grind Beijing Presents

2022 is not looking any easier to many Chinese tech companies. One macro risk that is causing panic is the resurgence of COVID-19 cases in China. In response to the epidemic since late 2019, tech startup in China involved in the long-term fight against COVID-19. We have the honor to invite Kiran Patel (朱俊博), senior Director from China-Britain Business Council, Jingjing Ma, CEO of Nordiq Group China and Daniel Xie, co-founder of Geospace to talk about how we thrive in the Midst of Covid Uncertainty for Startups

Jingjing Ma

CEO, Nordiq Group China

 Jingjing Ma is the co-founder of NORDIQ Group Denmark and CEO of NORDIQ Group China. She has over 17 years of professional experience in climate change, low carbon city planning, sustainable urban planning framework development, slow traffic mobility system advice, ecological regional framework development and built environment projects.

She developed the first Clean Development Mechanism Chinese based project methodology approved under UNFCCC from 2004-2006 as AM0058. 

She has been working on the Low Carbon urbanization, from strategic urban planning since 2009 intensively, especially for the first Chinese low carbon pilot cities supported by MOHURD.  She is also Co-author of China Development Bank Capital. 12 GREEN Guidelines for Chinese Cities. She has published book < COPENHAGENIZE> in Chinese in 2021.

Daniel Xie

Co-founder, Geospace

Daniel is the co-founder of Geospace, a startup founded in 2019, incubated by INNOWAY in Beijing- China, works in the field of research and development providing innovative solutions through the integration of remote sensing images, big data, IoT, artificial intelligence, GIS and BIM.

He is brazilian, geological engineer and master of engineering in aerospace science and technology - Remote Sensing and GIS by Beihang University, through the MASTA program created by the United Nations between the Brazilian Space Agency and Chinese Space Agency. 

Kiran Patel (朱俊博)

Senior Director, China-Britain Business Council

Kiran Patel is Senior Director, CBBC China. He has been living in China since 2004 and has acomprehensive skillset in business development, marketing, and communications, cutting acrossboth the private and public sectors.

Kiran joined the China-Britain Business Council from the British Council where he held adiplomatic post in China on behalf of the Cultural & Education Section of the British Embassy.Prior to this, he worked in the Professional Services sector.

At CBBC, Kiran leads our commercial, sector, marketing and communications teams across China.Kiran is deeply knowledgeable on China and has been an active member of the UK-China businesscommunity over a prolonged period.

Geospace is a start-up based in China and Brazil. We work in the field of research and development providing innovative solutions through the integration of remote sensing image, big data, IoT, artificial intelligence, GIS, BIM with application in several sectors such as, smart cities, agriculture, mining, urban planning among others. In addition to software development，currently we also have under development a drone intelligent platform project aiming applications for industrial segment.
