Who doesn’t want superpowers? But where do we start? Come and join Shannon from MakeFashion, James and Carrie from SteamHead and MakeFashion Edu Luke from M5 as well as makers from Shenzhen and abroad to learn what it takes to hack your clothes so they reveal your latent superpowers! Mike from Cultivative will be there handling photography and documenting the whole process as well!

What’s your superpower? Spider sense? Controlling things with your mind? Changing colours to blend in with the environment? Or maybe you need to OWN the Karaoke stage! Let’s get together and figure this out, it’s time we made Human 2.0 happen.

Venue: X.Factory

Date: Nov 10th and 11th (Saturday and Sunday)

Time: Noon until we finish (expect at least 4-8 hours to accomplish your basic idea)

Cost:

Free to join the hackathon, but tech costs will be passed on to teams / participants.

Cost will vary on project, but a typical build will be between 80 and 200RMB.

Schedule:

Nov 10th:

12:00 - introduction & project discussion

13:00 - needs assessment and team building

14:00 - team one, coding and basic proof of concept assembly

Team 2, taxi ride to SEG with tech shopping list

15:00 - 18:00 - build time

19:00 - pizza & beer

20:00 until late - building as needed

Nov 11th:

8:00-12:00 Don’t forget it’s singles day! Get your Taobao orders in!

12:00 - 16:00 Back at x.Factory for final tweaks and interviews

19:00 - meeting for photo session and party!

Mike will be documenting this process, each team will receive their project documentation and photographs after the event.

What you need to bring:

10 step plan for world domination (or an outline at least!)

Hackable clothes (good chance they’ll end up with holes and hot glue on them, so something you don’t mind damaging

Idea for your favourite and 2nd favourite super power.
