What is fashion drawing? What’s the difference between fashion drawing and fashion illustration? What’s the purpose of fashion drawing? How do you make a career out of it? Join us on the evening of September 26th for a public lecture and drawing lesson (no experience required!) from an expert in the field of fashion and design.
EducationUSA is honored to invite Nancy Riegelman, a world-renowned fine artist and illustrator, former Fulbright Scholar, and faculty member at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, to Lincoln Hall. She has collaborated with a number of major fashion designers and houses, including Jeremy Scott with Moschino, Adidas, Bernhard Willhelm, and Chanel. She is also a styling consultant, most recently with the online designer site Farfetch. Riegelman has authored a number of highly-regarded educational publications including 9 Heads (for which she collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld’s team), Colors for Modern Fashion, and Face Fashion. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) and is in many permanent collections, including UCLA's Hammer Museum.
On Sep. 26th, Riegelman will not only teach the audience how to draw the basic fashion figure but also how fashion drawing can be a powerful tool of fashion design. As a FIDM professor, Riegelman will also cover portfolio preparation for applying to applied arts schools. Don’t miss out on the chance to learn more about how to pursue an art & design degree in the U.S.!
