【观展须知】

本次展览参观采用预约制。体验者需提前线上报名预约。每场观展时间约为2小时。体验作品期间需佩戴由歌德学院提供的VR眼镜。鉴于整个展期仅能提供400余席位，我们在此希望每位预约者仅预约一个场次。

预约成功者请在预约时间10分钟之前抵达歌德学院。超过预约时间10分钟未到场者，预约名额视为无效。

【Visiting Information】

Visiting the exhibition is possible by making an appointment via online registration (link) and takes about 2 hours. To experience the exhibited works, it's necessary to wear VR headsets provided and regularly disinfected by the Goethe-Institut. In view of the limited number of visitors, we ask you to only register for one appointment. However, a change of date is possible.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. Reservations of those who still do not show up 10 minutes after the start of the agreed appointment will be considered invalid.

【策展人陈述】

商榷之事：身份

身份，一直是文化史上重要的话题。它提出的问题，不仅仅是“我是谁”，更是“我认同自己是谁”。前一个问题联系着性别、年龄、国别，在我们从小到大的各类表格上不断重复；而后一个问题是复数和多义的存在，在成长、教育、职业等社会化过程中不断演变和流动。

如今，身份的商榷不仅发生在现实场景，而且在数字世界中自然生发。后疫情时代，我们在数字空间中的生存时间越来越长，给复数的身份带来进一步的形塑和重塑。身份的变迁在社交媒介中的呈现，也是数字化对当下自我的持续反思。现实的节奏越来越快，算法比我们更了解自己，此时，身份意味着什么？

使用新技术来探索沉浸感，早已成为戏剧、电影、建筑等艺术形式的先锋探索之一。VR、AR、MR技术在日常生活中创造重叠的时空，为我们提供了不同的视角看待身份、社区和社会。

此次展览的六部作品，运用最新的XR技术和设备，进入身份思考的全新领域：《衣橱之间》在多元光谱中探讨性别的流动，《HANAHANA花華》用手臂搭建起音乐与建筑的新世界，《VVVR》将现实交流转译为虚拟呈现；《失身记》思考人与历史，《亦真亦幻》重新认识人与城市，《GO》中回归人与自然。绘画、建筑、音乐、游戏、文学在虚拟空间中碰撞、交叠，平行时空浮现，情感在其中穿梭，驻留。

本次策展的XR作品，共同关注了身份商榷的问题。以模拟和数字体验为基础，XR为故事开放了新的可能，提供对身份的探访，让体验者直面自身的行为方式，进一步探讨身份的多元内涵。我们想邀请观众思考影响身份塑造的不同方面。新的世界拉开帷幕，体验者暂别人类躯壳; 深刻的情感继续酝酿，通往自决存在的舱门已然开启。

是满载而返，或是若有所失。虚拟时空归来，那个我，现在是谁？

Curatorial Statement

NEGOTIABLE MATTERS: IDENTITIES

Identity is one of the defining themes of cultural history. It poses not only the question of who I am, but also the question of which identity I claim for myself. The first question is related to gender, age, origin, and also nationality. We encounter it throughout our lives in countless forms. The second question refers to a plural, polymorphic character that develops and constantly changes in the course of socialisation processes through upbringing, education and profession.

Today, identity is negotiated not only in the physical world, but also - as a matter of course - in the digital world. In these times of pandemic, we find ourselves spending more time than ever in digital space, which implies a further shaping and transformation of our plural identities. Through the use of social media, the shift in identity is turning into a constant process of reflection on our present self and is continually influenced by digital experiences. What does identity mean in a time when reality is accelerating ever more rapidly and algorithms seem to know more about us than we do ourselves? The use of new technologies that enable modes of immersion has long been part of the avant-garde repertoire in theatre, film, architecture and other art forms. Technologies such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality create overlapping space-times in our everyday lives, opening up multiple perspectives on identity, community and society.

The six works featured in this exhibition use the latest extended reality technologies and break new ground in the exploration of the theme of identity: THROUGH THE WARDROBE explores the fluidity of the genders in a multifaceted spectrum; HANAHANA花華 constructs a new world of music and architecture, consisting of arms and energy fields; VVVR frees users from the barriers of their own voices and bodies by translating real communication into a virtual form; BODYLESS discovers identity in history and transports the viewer into an intermediate world without bodies; THE REAL THING takes a new look at urban life and inhabited space, and GO focuses on humankind's return to nature and reflects on our finiteness. Painting, architecture, music, games and literature collide and overlap with each other in virtual space, creating parallel space-times in which emotions linger and oscillate.

The selection of artworks includes a focus on XR works that negotiate identity issues. Based on analogue and digital experiences, XR media open up new possibilities for storytelling and explorations of identity. Visitors are confronted with their own behaviour patterns and have the opportunity to further explore the multiple meanings of identity.

We invite visitors to reflect on the variety of aspects that influence identity formation. A new world opens up, the participants leave their human bodies; emotions are condensed and the door to a self-determined existence is opened.

Do I return fulfilled or do I feel as if I have lost something? This I, returning from virtual space-time - who is it?
