    作为全球最大的经济体,美国的经济运行和经济政策对全球经济的发展影响重大。自去年以来,中美两国的贸易摩擦成为公众密切关注的焦点,两国的贸易争端也对世界经济的复苏与健康发展形成了挑战。

    本月21日,哥大全球中心 | 北京邀请您对话哥伦比亚大学国际与公共事务学院的专家学者,围绕美联储货币政策正常化,详解当今世界的经济格局,包括中美经济发展和欧洲经济的未来预期。


    On March 21, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing invites you to a discussion on the U.S. and global economy.

    Patricia Mosser, Director of the MPA in Economic Policy Management at Columbia SIPA will start the discussion with a brief overview of the current US economic situation, including a short presentation on Fed normalization. She will discuss key upcoming policy choices about the structure of US monetary policy as well as the economic and financial stability risks of normalization for U.S. and the rest of the world. Jan Svejnar, Director of the Center on Global Economic Governance at SIPA, will expand upon Professor Mosser’s presentation by looking more closely at the European economy, its current status and the future outlook. Merit Janow, Dean of SIPA, will take up the question of global trade tensions and comment upon their ramifications to the US and Chinese economies.

    Merit E. Janow

    哥伦比亚大学国际与公共事务学院院长

    Janow作为国际贸易和投资方面的专家,在学术界、政界、商界都有着丰富的工作经验。她拥有哥大法学博士学位,现任教于哥大国际与公共事务学院和法学院。同时,她还担任哥大亚太经合组织研究中心联席主任、哥大全球中心 | 北京教授指导委员会委员。2003至2007年,Janow任世贸组织上诉机构第一位女性成员,审理有关农业补贴、贸易救济、服务、关贸总协定等领域的30多起案件。她曾担任美国对中国和日本的贸易谈判代表团副助理,负责研究、协调和落实贸易谈判中的贸易政策和战略。Janow曾就职于多家企业和非营利机构,2009年起,她担任中投公司国际咨询委员会委员。


    Merit E. Janow is an internationally recognized expert in international trade and investment, with extensive experience in academia, government, international organizations and business. Janow has been a Professor of Practice at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and affiliated faculty at Columbia Law School since 1995. Currently, in addition to being Dean of SIPA, she is also Co-Director of the APEC Study Center and member of the Faculty Steering Committee of Columbia Global Centers | Beijing.

     

    Patricia Mosser

    哥伦比亚大学国际与公共事务学院经济政策管理硕士项目主任,并领导学院的中央银行和金融政策研究项目。Mosser教授是前美国财政部金融研究办公室研究和分析中心主任,曾在纽约联邦储备银行任职二十余年,负责监督市场分析、货币政策实施、外汇业务操作、金融稳定性及改革分析等项目。Mosser教授是威尔斯利学院学士、伦敦政治经济学院硕士和麻省理工学院经济学博士。


    Patricia Mosser is Director of the MPA Program in Economic Policy Management at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and leads the school's Initiative on Central Banking and Financial Policy. Previously, Mosser was head of the Research and Analysis Center at the Office of Financial Research, U.S. Treasury Department. Mosser spent over 20 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where she was a senior manager at the Fed's open market desk overseeing market analysis, monetary policy implementation, foreign exchange operations, and analysis of financial stability and reform. She received a BA from Wellesley College, an MSc with distinction from the LSE, and a PhD in economics from MIT.


    Jan Svejnar

    哥伦比亚大学全球政治经济学James T. Shotwell讲席教授,哥大国际与公共事务学院全球经济治理中心主任。他的研究方向包括:1、政府政策对企业、劳动者和资本市场的影响;2、企业、国家和国际层面的治理与绩效;3、创业、创新和投资。


    Jan Svejnar is the James T. Shotwell Professor of Global Political Economy and Director of the Center on Global Economic Governance at Columbia University. He focuses his research on (i) the effects of government policies on firms, labor and capital markets; (ii) corporate, national, and global governance and performance; and (iii) entrepreneurship, innovation and investment.
