    林苒个展——偷偷摸摸美术馆

    “偷偷摸摸美术馆”缘起于林苒观察家门口的小花园里一个流浪汉在石凳上住了三年,她也留意到自己住的市中心的小区里面到处都是空置房屋。有人流离失所,居无定所,而城市房屋却又如此高得空置无人住。她因此开始关注空置房所包含的一系列社会问题。林苒经过大量细致的田野调查、人文思考以及艺术策划之后,在2018年9月开启“偷偷摸摸美术馆”。这是一个流动的美术馆,更是一个致力于如何将空置空间改造成美术馆的艺术项目。将一个个的艺术展览“偷偷摸摸”从一个空置空间移动到另外一个空置空间,像一棵棵顽强而鲜活的植被野蛮地生长着,绽放在各式各样的城市空白中。“偷偷摸摸美术馆”试图通过一系列的即兴、躲闪、侵占、强介入、夜间开幕、不被言说和被动传播的形式,对日常的闲置空间赋予瞬间的精神场能,从而探索艺术的形式、观念的维度和现实语境之间的关系。“偷偷摸摸美术馆”提示了两个现实,即过去几十年里房地产对土地资源的占有和巨量空置以及民间社会资源的生存紧张和矛盾。

    偷偷摸摸美术馆缘起

    2013年的某月某天,我路过自己家小区外面的小花园的时候,发现那个衣着还算整齐的流浪汉,在小花园石凳上已经坐了有好一阵子了。


    我用手机随手拍下第一张关于他的照片,发到我的微信朋友圈里。就这样,春来冬去,寒暑易节,不管是阴雨绵绵返潮发霉的厦门南风天,还是艳阳高照的酷暑,亦或是冬日里的暖阳下,他始终坐在那个石凳上,发呆,看报,睡觉,像一尊活着的雕塑。


    而我,来来往往地路过,常常会偷拍一张照片,上传到朋友圈。于是,很神奇的,他渐渐变成我——一个陌生人朋友圈里面的一个重要角色。我和我的朋友们,一起观察他,讨论他。甚至有人问了地址,试图来接近他,跟他聊天,给他送睡袋,送水壶。我也曾试图送了他一个哆啦A梦的抱枕……他就这么存在于我们视线里,和我们的世界有了一个交叉点,若有也若无。


    2016年夏天,厦门经历一场特大的台风莫兰蒂,之后,我就再也没有见过他了。那个他坐了三年的石凳总是空空的。他就这么消失了,一如他不曾来过。 


    或许,于他者而言,当我们被讨论,被解说的时候就是平凡的每一个人存在于这个世界上的一个小小的佐证吧。他从未被关注过的生命,延续在了一个艺术展览中。这是我做偷偷摸摸美术馆的最初缘起。


    生命总是有始有终

    缘灭却在缘起时

    一栋房子或许经年累月

    都还没有开始过它的使命

    亦或者准备结束了它的生命

    它其实已经在时空里

    进入另外一个轮回

    它幻化成你喜欢的样子

    它是一幅画

    它是一个装置

    它是一首诗

    或许它还是我今天对你的

    一个微笑

    关于艺术家



    林苒

    艺术家,策展人,新媒体艺术研究者和创作者。任教于厦门集美大学美术学院。在法国留学和工作7年。先后毕业于法国巴黎国立高等美术学院当代造型艺术专业与法国鲁昂国立高等美院新媒体艺术专业双硕士。厦门大学人文学院戏剧专业新媒体艺术方向博士在读。作品以装置、影像(video)、实验绘画为主。曾连续三年雅昌艺术网艺术批评专栏作者,发表艺术评论文章百万余字。多次举办个展,参加过上海当代艺术博物馆的上海双年展,美国密歇根州布罗德美术馆《内燃》女性艺术展览,集美阿尔勒国际摄影节,法国巴黎国际超短片节,法国克莱蒙费朗国际短片节独立艺术家邀请展,地中海国际电影节短片单元,马来西亚艺博会,中国马来西亚建交40周年展,中国福建省美术馆《缺席的身份》中国女性艺术家全国提名展等中国和国际大型展览,作品被诸多重要的国内外公共艺术机构以及私人藏家收藏。



    关于策展人
    王春辰

    著名策展人、批评家,中央美术学院教授、博士生导师,现任中央美院美术馆副馆长,从事现代美术史及当代艺术理论与批评研究。2012年美国密执根州立大学布罗德美术馆特约策展人;2013年第55届威尼斯国际艺术双年展中国馆策展人;英国学刊Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art《当代中国艺术杂志》副主编及德国斯普林格出版社《中国当代艺术丛书》主编;2015年英国泰特美术馆访问研究员。

    Lin Ran's Preface




    One day in 2013, when I passed the small garden outside mycommunity, I found that the tramp, who was still dressed neatly, had beensitting on the stone bench of the small garden for a long time.


    I used my mobile phone to take the first picture of him and send itto my Wechat friends circle. In this way, he always sits on the stone bench,dazed, reading newspapers, sleeping, like a living sculpture, whether it's therainy and moldy south wind days in XiaMen, the hot summer days in the sun, orthe warm sun in the winter.


    And I, come and go by, often take a picture secretly, upload to thecircle of friends. So, miraculously, he gradually became me, an important rolein the circle of strangers and friends. My friends and I watched him anddiscussed him. Someone even asked the address, tried to come near him, talkedwith him, gave him a sleeping bag and a kettle. I also tried to give him aDoraemon Pillow... He just exists in our sight, and has a crossing point withour world, if any, if not.


    In the summer of 2016, XiaMen experienced a huge typhoon Meranti.After that, I never saw him again. The stone bench where he has been sittingfor three years is always empty. He disappeared as if he had never been.

     

    Perhaps, for the other, when we are discussed and explained, it is asmall evidence that every ordinary person exists in the world. His life, whichhas never been noticed, continues in an art exhibition. This is my first reasonfor sneaking around the art gallery.




    Life always has a beginning and an end

    At the time of origin

    A house may take years

    It haven't even begun its mission

    Or ready to end its life

    It's already in time and space

    Enter another cycle

    It turns into what you like

    It's a painting

    It's a installtion

    It's a poem

    Maybe it's what I did to you today

    A smile






    Artist Introduction:

    Lin Ran is an artist, curator, New Media researcher, and lecturer in Jimei University of Xiamen. She was graduated from École nationalle Supérieure des arts de Cergy-paris and École Supérieured'Art et Design Le Havre-Rouen with double master degree.Lin continues her study at Xiamen University right now for her doctoral degree of new media. Her works mainly present through installations, video andexperimental painting. Lin is also an art critic, having been writing for theArtron.Net for three years. Lin’s works were presented in exhibitions includes the 2013 Shanghai Biennial, Fire Within at Board ArtMuseum of Michigan, Jimei Arles International Photo Festival,Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film festival in France,Mediterranean International Film Festival, Art Fair Malaysia, and Chinese Women Artist Nominating Exhibition at Fujian Art Museum. Her works have beencollected by many important public institutions and private collectors at homeand abroad.

    Curator  Introduction:

    Professor Wang Chunchen is a famous curator and critic, he is Deputy Directory and the Chief Curator the CAFA Art Museum at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China, as well as Adjunct Curator at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University. In 2013, he was appointed as the Curator of the Chinese Pavilion at the 55th edition of the Venice Biennale. Wang is also a Deputy Principal Editor of the UK-basedJournal of Contemporary Chinese Artand Editor-in-Chief of The Chinese Contemporary Art Series published by Springer-Verlag, Germany. Wang has been invited to travel all over the world to participate in symposia and forums and to give lectures. In 2015, he was invited by Tate Research Center: Asia to be a Visiting Fellow.
