6月12日，哥大全球中心 | 北京邀请您参加2019哥大中国之夏·艺术人文系列 ——《黑泽明的罗生门》中文版新书发布会，跟随本书作者、哥大教授保罗·安德利尔（Paul Anderer）走进黑泽明的电影世界。

保罗·安德利尔教授在《黑泽明的罗生门》一书中，对黑泽明的生活、电影和两次世界大战前后的日本进行了新颖、深刻的把握，为我们呈现了一幅关于黑泽明的深刻的思想肖像。

安德利尔教授挖掘了黑泽明标志性的电影和他的个人、社会悲剧之前的关联。安德利尔教授为我们呈现了在黑泽明所处的时代“罗生门效应”意味着什么，并通过一种和黑泽明近似的叙事策略，为我们勾勒了黑泽明的电影中的道德自觉和美学意识。

《黑泽明的罗生门》一书既是对二战后日本社会思想困境的一次回溯，也是我们今日世界面临阴影的一种隐喻。这本书鼓励读者（观众）在当下重访黑泽明的电影和他的精神遗产，像《罗生门》中的樵夫和黑泽明电影中的其他主人公那样获得行动和重生的力量。

On June 12, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing invites you to a book launch of the "Kurosawa's Rashomon", simplified Chinese edition, and to explore Kurosawa's world. In this sensitive investigation of Kurosawa's life, film and war-ridden Japan, Paul Anderer focused on forces that shaped Kurosawa's art, and provided us with an entangling portrait of the director.

"Kurosawa's Rashomon" burrowed into the unobserved relevance between Kurosawa's iconic films and those catastrophes both public and private, Anderer probed of Rashomon effect of Kurosawa's era and illuminated the moral and aesthetic consciousness of Kurosawa's films by use of a strategy similar to Kurosawa's. 

"Kurosawa's Rashomon" is as much emblematic of postwar Japan's moral predicament as a metaphor for the shadows of our present, it encourages the readers (audience) today to revisit Kurosawa's heritage to gain power and momentum like the woodcutter and Kurosawa's other characters.

​保罗·安德利尔 Paul Anderer

哥伦比亚大学Mack人文讲席教授兼日本文学教授。1989至1997年间担任哥伦比亚大学东亚系系主任，主要研究方向为日本小说、日本电影和当代文学批评。  著有《另外的世界：有岛武郎和现代日本文学的界限》《失落的故乡：小林秀雄的文学批判，1924—1939》等。

Paul Anderer joined the Columbia faculty in 1980. From 1989 until 1997, he was the chair of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures. He has also served the University as Vice Provost for International Relations, as Associate Vice-President for Academic Planning and Global Initiatives in the Arts and Sciences, and as Acting Dean of the Graduate School. He has written numerous articles exploring the culture of the city (Tokyo) and Japanese modernity. His work has been awarded support from the NEH, the SSRC, and the Fulbright Commission. He is currently writing a book on the black and white films of Kurosawa Akira, in their relationship to the Japanese post-war and to the era of silent film-making.
