Join our local host, Cheryl for a dynamic workshop on beginners Mahjong. We will be covering rules, strategy, and history of Mahjong in China. Come along and enjoy some healthy competition and learn how this game has stood the test of time.

Who is our teacher?

Cheryl Chen comes from Hunan, the home province of Mao Zedong. She graduated from Beijing Normal University with a Masters degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. Her prior work experience includes working at a military academy in Texas, and she has extensive experience teaching traditional Chinese singing, paper-cutting, and mahjong to name a few.

She is good at adding challenge and fun to regular culture courses. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis and swimming, as well as reading and writing.
