R-Ladies 在北京正式成立分会 

R-Ladies has formally started its chapter in Beijing

R-Ladies是一个由R用户或R初学者组成的全球社区，致力于使R社区更加具有性别包容性。 R社区目前正遭受性别失衡的困扰– 2017年的一项调查发现，R用户中女性只有14％，而数据科学家中只有15-25％是女性。 R-Ladies试图通过鼓励更多的性别少数群体（即非男性）R用户聚在一起在包容和支持的环境中发展技能来解决此问题。 R-Ladies由Gabriela de Queiroz于2012年10月1日在加利福尼亚州旧金山成立。从那时起，R-Ladies已发展到在47个国家/地区拥有165个分会，并拥有50,000多个会员，并且社区还在不断发展。

R-Ladies is a global community of R users or beginners who are committed to making the R community more gender-inclusive. The R community currently suffers from a gender imbalance – a 2017 survey found that only 14% of R users are women and only 15-25% of data scientists are women. R-ladies seeks to address this issue by encouraging more gender minority (i.e. non-males) R users to come together to develop their skills in a supportive, inclusive environment. R-Ladies was founded by Gabriela de Queiroz on October 1, 2012 in San Francisco, California. Since then, R-Ladies has grown to have 165 chapters in 47 countries and over 50,000 members, and the community is continuing to grow.

R-Ladies通过举办培训，讲习班和社交活动，以帮助参会人彼此了解并谈论她/他们作为数据科学女性或R用户和学习者的经历。 12月21日星期六，下午3:00至5：00，R-Ladies北京将与Ladies Who Tech在北京中关村的Innoplanet（ Innoway）共同举办首场活动（地址：北京海淀苏州街中关村创业大街6号楼）。来自 R-Ladies的王月媛（Clara Wang）将主讲本次培训，主题为“用数据讲故事：用R来做数据图像”。

On Saturday, December 21 from 3:00 to 5:00pm, R-Ladies Beijing will co-host its first event with Ladies Who Tech at Innoplanet, Innoway in Zhongguancun (北京海淀苏州街中关村创业大街6号楼). Clara Wang (王月媛) from R-Ladies will be leading a workshop on “Telling Stories with Data: Make a Data Visualization in R” (用数据来讲故事：用R来做数据图像).
