艺术家应晶晶热爱自然、尊重自然,对平行运转的宇宙，黑暗物质，地球上的鸟类、皮肤、矿石、化石、羽毛、骨头尤其感兴趣。至于“晶体”这个意象，它的存在不是特指，更多的是由信仰和认知编织存在的某种神秘力量...... 而晶体在大自然面前，它不断变幻着给艺术家传达的信息。2015年应晶晶从南京艺术学院油画专业研究生毕业，从精通于具象写实的绘画语言的她，转而骤然选择用截然不同的抽象的绘画语言,来表达她对于世界的认知。因自小她对于亿万年自然生长的“晶状体”化石就萌生浓厚的兴趣，加之自幼受到传统书香门第的熏陶浸染。艺术家巧夺天空地将气势磅礴的抽象水墨表现与锋利闪亮的水晶钻石切面融合在她的作品，貌似矛盾的两者并置显得如此浑然天成，又相得益彰。艺术家不断通过坚实硬朗的晶体、柔和晕染的水墨的并置，在表达她对于生命的理解，启发着艺术家的生命感官体验，引起艺术家对于自我存在价值和如何表达自身的思考，进而用画笔和油彩，不断地捉摸这种理解。 

从凝聚东方传统水墨气韵的表达与锋利闪亮的水晶钻石切面融合的《抽象山水》及《水墨·水晶·晶》系列作品，近年来应晶晶随之开始大量研究黑色元素，思考和实验其在创作中的运用。结合东方书法的精神及晶体钻石切割面，创作出《YOU WANT IT DARKER》系列作品，晶体在作品里平行交错的线条与折射，就像是在对“生长—消亡—再生长”循环往复的真理，以及强大生命意识存在的致敬，作品自始至终在视觉和心理暗示角度都呈现出极其中性的气质:以渐变的墨色底面,加之厚度的规整局部,硬朗的几何黑白渐变贯穿整个画面,让一览无遗的满目黑色肆意蔓延…... 此时，黑色似乎不再作为作品中的某种“颜色”而存在，而是变成了一种表达色彩的“媒介”，而多维的水晶棱面，折射出个体与个体，个体与环境的复杂关系，以一个中性视角来看待当下的世界。

《Blobs》系列与《Peace and Yellow rose》系列是艺术家在中性及锋利的晶體之外的一个对照，圆圆升起的泡泡，以及大量她乐忠使用的金色元素，创作出既具有纯粹绘画书写性，又富有时尚设计感的新作品，在思考当下语境时，也对社会环境表达了一份爱与关怀，多了一些浪漫情怀与女性的温润柔软特质。

艺术家应晶晶不断的在超越自我，就如同自然生长的水晶，以无限的想象力给我们更多充满生命力的作品。

Artist Ying Jinging loves and respects nature, and is particularly interested in the parallel universe, dark matter, birds, skin, minerals, fossils, feathers and bones on earth. As for the image of "crystal", its existence is not a specific class of thing, but more a mysterious power woven by faith and perception... The  constant change of crystal in its interaction with nature provides the messages to the artist. In 2015, Ying Jingjing graduated from the Nanjing University of The Arts with a major in oil painting. She was proficient in concrete images and realistic representation. However, this time she suddenly choses to use abstract painting techniques to convey her insight of the world. Since she was a child, she had a strong interest in the natural transformation of lenslike fossils over hundreds of millions of years. In addition, she was nurtured in a traditional scholarly culture. The artist skillfully integrates the magnificent Abstract ink expression and the sharp shining crystal diamond cutting shapes into her works. It seems that the two ideas are contradictory but the juxtaposition somehow complements each other as perfect forms found in nature. Through the juxtaposition of solid and hard crystal, and soft and halo dye ink, the artist expresses her understanding of life with the enlightenment of her sensory experience and deep thinking about the reason for her existence as well as how to express her thoughts. She uses the brush and oil paint to continuously capture the process of navigating the meaning of life.

In recent years, Ying Jingjing has been studying a lot of black elements, thinking and experimenting the use of black pigments in her creation, She often integrates traditional Oriental ink with the sharp and shining crystal diamond structure in her paintings. The 《YOU WANT IT DARKER》series was created with the combination of the spirit of Oriental Calligraphy and the cutting surface of crystal diamond painting techniques. The parallel and interlaced lines, and refractions of the crystal in this series of works depicts the universal truth of the circle of life "growth - extinction - regrowth". It  also pays  homage to the existence of a being with a strong sense of life. From the beginning to the end, the works show a very neutral temperament from the perspective of visual and psychological cues with gradual change of  darkness in the background and the clear defined sections divided by the thicknesses of the ink. The strong geometric black and white gradients run through the whole picture making the black at a glance spread wantonly ...now, it seems that black no longer exists as a  "color" in the paintings, but becomes a "medium" to express color. The multidimensional crystal prism reflects the complex relationship between each individual, individual and environment. It looks into the current world from a neutral perspective. 

《Blobs》series and 《Peace and Yellow Rose》 series display the strong contrast between the neutral and sharp crystal that the artist intended to illustrate. She likes to use the round bubbles and large portions of golden elements to create new pieces which appear to be pure paintings and writings but also embrace a sense of fashion design. When thinking about the current context of art language, her works also express love and care for the society and the environment which provide more romantic feelings and display the soft and gentle nature of  female characters. 

Artist Ying Jingjing is constantly challenging herself to improve her works. Just like the formation of beautiful crystals in nature, she is continuously presenting artworks which are  full of vitality with infinite imagination.
