Through architecture, do we solely aim for the practice and the knowledge of building? Through the spirit of architecture which architects pursue, what else could be generated?

To study the predecessors’ great legacy, besides literature study from historical research and design analysis from architectural research, what approaches can architects provide? What will appear when historic object is described with innovated architectural language?

To appreciate a Chinese landscape painting, besides iconological and iconographical method for the shape of art history, the cognition of space, can we apply the architectural toolbox to read it spatially? What will emerge if we read it with the language (rather than the objective) of design?

How do architects describe the experiential space differently today? How to describe the constructed space more authentically? Can it generate new meaning if a classic building is re-described with invented ways?

The descriptive methods today despite of the media or skills, are formulated from today’s intellectual context; can they formulate our intelligence to experience time-space?

By designing apparatus of spatial translations, our work practice the mutual translation of spatial concepts and perceptual experience. In this lecture, we will share the process in which our explorative projects gradually triggered questions like that above.
