Two young men, who feel like they've lost themselves, give each other support. and through the process of exploration develop true emotions towards each other.
Two young men, with completely different experiences and backgrounds, aspire to find the same thing: a sense of identity, regardless of sexual orientation.

展映后特邀菲律宾马尼拉雅典耀大学教授 Jayson Pilapil Jacobo 与上海纽约大学助理教授洪子惠参与映后谈。 Jayson Pilapil Jacobo,现为菲律宾青年评论家协会电影评审会成员,对酷儿文化研究多年,是《东南亚酷儿日报》的创始人兼主编之一。洪子惠,研究东南亚与跨太平洋华人移民离散文化,制力于多元文化与性别等课题。

Mx. Jayson Pilapil Jacobo, professor at the Ateneo de Manila University and Ms. Celina Hung, Assistant Professor of Literature at NYU Shanghai will be joining us for the after screening talk.
Mx. Jayson Pilapil Jacobo is a member of the Film Desk of the Young Critics Circle of the Philippines and co-founding editor of Queer Southeast Asia: A Literary Journal of Transgressive Art. Ms. Celina Hung’s study focuses on Chinese migrant and diasporic networks and gender and sexuality studies.

菲律宾青年艾力克斯从未见过父亲,母亲则在他幼时离家到台湾帮佣,断绝音讯多年后,他才得知母亲已于他乡落地生根,来台后他在偶然间遇见泰雅族青年杰瑞,两人随即成为心有灵犀的莫逆之交,在得知杰瑞因自己的同志身分而近乡情怯后,艾力克斯鼓励杰瑞回到家乡对父母坦承自我,也触动自己内心深处寻找母亲的渴望,两人交织出一段超越性向并探索自我的真挚情谊。
Tale of the Lost Boys is a story of a friendship between two men---Alex the Filipino
and Jerry the Taiwanese aborigine. Alex arrived in Taipei from Manila. He met Jerry and soon realized Jerry's homosexuality. Nonetheless, they became fast friends and decided to go on a road trip to Yilan, the northeast of Taiwan and where Jerry's hometown is. Alex’s mother left him for Taiwan for work when he was little. They hadbeen out of touch for a long time. Jerry stayed away from home for being gay. He couldn't live a fake life but was tormented by feeling exiled. The trip made them connect and reconnect with their respective mothers and realize a certain sense of identity.

洪子惠,上海纽约大学文学助理教授,研究东南亚与跨太平洋华人移民离散文化,及当代华/英语地区殖民、后殖民、和多元文化论述,授华语语系文学、华人移民网络、亚洲电影、及性与性别等课程。
Celina Hung is Assistant Professor of Literature at NYU Shanghai. She teaches Sinophone and Anglophone literatures, Chinese migrant and diasporic networks, Asian cinemas, and gender and sexuality studies.
Jayson Pilapil Jacobo 现为菲律宾青年评论家协会电影评审会成员,自2004起便开始撰写影评。其正在编纂的电影评论选集将于2018年由Balangiga出版社出版。Jayson为富布莱特奖学金学者,于纽约州立大学斯托尼布鲁克分校获授比较文学博士学位,现任职于马尼拉雅典耀大学人文学院菲律宾语及英语系,教学方向包括文学、电影、流行文化、及电影理论与评论。Jayson也是《东南亚酷儿日报》的创始人兼主编之一。
Jayson Pilapil Jacobo is a member of the Film Desk of the Young Critics Circle of the Philippines. They has been writing criticism since 2004 and is preparing their first anthology of film criticism, to be published by Balangiga Press in 2018. They holds the Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, through the J. William Fulbright Foundation Scholarship, and teaches literature, cinema, popular culture, and theory and criticism at the Departments of Filipino and English in the School of Humanities of the Ateneo de Manila University. They is co-founding editor of Queer Southeast Asia: A Literary Journal of Transgressive Art.
