"The Leftover Monologues," is a play that debuted to great success in Beijing in the summer of 2014. (You can read about it here here and  here). Structured similarly to the "Vagina Monologues," the play unites eight brazen Chinese voices in a stirring evening of entertainment and insight into the complexities of love, sex, marriage and relationships in China - with an emphasis on the societal pressures/expectations that accompany all of the above.

Candidly, viscerally, and ardently, our performers will convey their battles with duty and desire, passion and practicality, and of course, give you an earful of the triumphs, travails and tribulations of being/fearing/or totally loving - being a leftover. 

The play is bilingual, so monologues will be in English or 中文, though we'll provide a general overview of each one so non-bilingual participants can follow without a problem.

《与众不同独白》的前身又叫《剩下的独白​》，是由美国畅销书《单身时代》作者Roseann Lake 于2014年导演的新时代女性话剧。

自2014年北京首场演出后就得到了观众的热烈反响，于是她们不得不在一年之内又增演三场，分别在波兰大使馆、77剧院（两次）成功演出，并在媒体和文化界引起了巨大轰动。

时隔3年，本次的北京场将是继纽约和上海后的第七场演出！

本着《阴道独白》话剧的启发和精神，参与者将提供关于爱情、婚姻、关系以及伴随各种社会压力下的精彩分享。

在这场独白中，来自不同背景、不同视角的女性将为观众呈现一个集娱乐性和故事性于一体的当代女性独白。透过她们的独特经历，一起庆祝非传统女性－

那些大胆追求生命热情的女性，

那些勇敢平衡社会义务与个人欲望的女性，

那些敢于逆潮流而行寻找更完整幸福定义的女性，

以及那些通过自身力量为自己和周围的人带来更高幸福感的女性。
