科技创新、能源管理与经济增长

无论是作为经济发展助推剂还是环境问题解决方案，创新科技在治理问题的各个方面（例如交通、能源网以及资源管理）正不断取得突破。如今，中国和其它许多国家所面临的最大挑战是如何创建一个可持续发展的未来，而将数字化服务整合进互联的社会治理生态系统正是创建可持续经济的好方法。

在经历几十年的经济高速增长后，中国正面临着人口统计及经济趋势可预见的许多问题，例如人口老龄化、经济发展减缓、能源消耗持续增长以及环境恶化。中国已经意识到了有效的互用性和互联设备在管理和治理中的重要作用，并开始着手通过数字化方案管理城市化问题，如智能垃圾桶、智能水表和无人驾驶汽车及智能交通系统。

4月7日，清华-布鲁金斯公共政策研究中心和宾大沃顿中国中心将举办以“科技创新、能源管理与经济增长”为主题的公开活动。布鲁金斯学会治理研究项目副总裁兼主任Darrell M. West将分享如何通过科技创新推动经济增长，话题包括互联网+、新能源、智能电网、智慧城市等。活动语言为英文和中文，提供同声传译，我们诚挚邀请您出席。

Economic Growth through Innovative Energy Management

Whether acting as a stimulus for economic growth or a solution for environmental issues, innovation technology is making advancements through various sectors of governance such as transportation, energy grids, and resource management. Right now, the biggest challenge for China and many other countries is to build a sustainable future, and integrating digital services into a connected ecosystem is a great way to build a sustainable economy. 

After decades of rapid economic growth, China is left to deal with problems forecasted by demographic and economic trends such as a rapidly aging population, a decline in economic growth, a continuous increase in energy consumption, and a deteriorating atmosphere. China has recognized the importance of effective interoperability and connected devices in management and governance, and has made the first steps towards implementing digital solutions to manage urbanization, such as smart garbage bins, smart meters and Intelligent Traffic System with autonomous cars. 

On April 7, the Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy and the Penn Wharton China Center will co-host an open event on Economic Growth through Innovative Energy Management. Darrell West, Vice President and Director of Governance Studies from Brookings Institution, will talk about his latest findings on Energy Management in China. Working language will be English with simultaneous translation. We cordially welcome interested researchers and friends to attend.

Mr. Darrell M. West 个人履历

布鲁金斯学会治理研究项目副总裁兼主任、科技创新中心创始主任、TechTan 博客主编。他当前主要研究领域包括教育技术、健康信息技术和移动通讯技术。在布鲁金斯学会就任前，韦斯特曾任布朗大学约翰•哈森•怀特政治学和公共政策教授以及陶曼公共政策研究中心主任。他的《数字政府》一书获得美国政治科学协会技术领域最佳书籍奖。他的《对话》一书获得美国政治学协会政治通讯领域最佳图书奖。 

Vice President and Director, Governance Studies; Founding Director, Center for Technology Innovation 

Darrell M. West is vice president and director of Governance Studies and holds the Douglas Dillon Chair. He is founding director of the Center for Technology Innovation at Brookings and Editor-in-Chief of TechTank. His current research focuses on educational technology, health information technology, and mobile technology. Prior to coming to Brookings, West was the John Hazen White Professor of Political Science and Public Policy and Director of the Taubman Center for Public Policy at Brown University. He is the winner of the American Political Science Association’s Don K. Price award for best book on technology (for Digital Government) and the American Political Science Association’s Doris Graber award for best book on political communications (for Cross Talk). 

齐晔教授个人履历

齐晔是清华-布鲁金斯公共政策研究中心的资深研究员及主任。他的研究专注于中国的气候变化、环境、能源、自然资源和城市化政策。近年来，他主要从事中国的低碳发展研究，包括出版年度报告分析中国如何平衡其经济增长和环境挑战。同时齐晔还牵头为河北省保定市设计中国首个低碳发展规划。

除了担任清华-布鲁金斯中心的主任外，齐晔还是清华大学公共管理学院的环境政策长江学者。在加入清华-布鲁金斯中心之前，他曾任清华大学气候政策研究中心的主任。

Director, Brookings- Tsinghua Center for Public Policy; Professor, School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University

QI Ye, a leading expert on China’s environment policy, is a senior fellow and director of the Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy in Beijing. His research focuses on China’s policies on climate change, environment, energy, natural resources and urbanization. His recent work examines low carbon development in China, including an annual report analyzing how China is balancing its economic growth and environmental challenges. Qi also headed up the design of China’s first low carbon development plan, for the city of Baoding in Hebei Province.

Introduction of the Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy

Founded in October 2006, the Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy (BTC) is a partnership between the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. and China’s Tsinghua University. Based in Tsinghua’s School of Public Policy and Management, the BTC seeks to produce high quality and high impact policy research in areas of fundamental importance for China’s development and for U.S.-China relations.

Introduction of the Penn Wharton China Center

The opening of the Penn Wharton China Center (PWCC) in March 2015 represents a substantial commitment to advance a long history of engagement with China by the Wharton School and its parent university, the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), in an increasingly interconnected global environment. PWCC provides on-the-ground support for the growing numbers of programs and collaborations between Penn’s 12 schools and many academic, government, and business partners throughout China.
